A Letter from our Branch Chair

Dear Members,

I am excited to have been selected as the new incoming chair of the ASM Vic branch committee and would like to acknowledge all the hard work our immediate past chair A/Prof Catherine Satzke, has done.

As members of the society, we have an opportunity to come together as a community to share ideas, interests, experiences and learn from one another to make a positive impact in our community. Throughout 2023 we will be organising a variety of events, workshops, and other activities such as the ASM mentoring program, awards nights, and events on current interests in microbiology, and this will help us build meaningful connections with one another.

The ASM Vic branch committee is comprised of 21 members that work hard to serve our >500 members. The Vic branch committee is divided into four working groups which include Medical Microbiology, Professional Development, Inclusion & Engagement and One Health. We will continue to update all ASM members of events that we will be running through our monthly newsletter or via our website.
